Dolby Atmos Mixing is our newest service. Starsound Studios is the first and only Dolby certified Atmos Mixing Studio. We can take the stems of any song you record and create a unique Dolby Atmos mix. We have a 9.1.4 system. The 9.1.4 system has nine speakers around the room at head level, one subwoofer (channel), and four height speakers in the ceiling. Dolby Atmos Mixing allows the mix to be around and above the listener. Haverstick Designs developed our room. Treating the room according to Haverstick Designs' exacting specifications was done. Dolby shot the room and it now meets their exacting EQ curve. There is no mixing without a good listening environment, and we have the best in Cleveland. Dolby Atmos Mixing is also referred to as immersive audio.

Immersive Audio, or Dolby Atmos Mixing, is a unique way of mixing audio stems from previous recordings. The mixing engineer can place any stem in any speaker pair from the Dolby renderer and paner. Now mixes can have three dimensions. We have nine Focal Alpha 80 speakers and a Neumann subwoofer. The speakers are as follows: - left - center - right, wides, sides, and rear speakers—also, four speakers or two stereo pairs of speakers in the ceiling along with the sub.

Our Dolby Atmos Mixing Service

After receiving your recording as stems, we will immediately import it into ProTools bridged with the Dolby Renderer. Raw tracks will not work. The effects and processing must be in the recording of each stereo stem. We can help you if you need to become more familiar with what to do. If the processing is not on the stems, the mix will not sound like the stereo version. We want to be able to show they are from the same family. The Dolby Atmos mix will be different for sure. However, it should not be a completely different animal. Our skill comes into play by ensuring the original is being followed. We will ensure that the Dolby Atmos Mixing is worth doing. We will also not make the familiar song unrecognizable.
